LUMBAR SPINE CHART in Three Sections

PROLAPSED DISC:

The terms "herniated disc" or "prolapsed disc" are not common to your patients' vocabularies. Do they really understand what happens when they develop intervertebral disc syndrome? How do your patients picture in their minds why they have pain and how this is causing pressure on their spinal cord and/or spinal nerves?

To help your patient visualize the concept, a new feature has been incorporated, which illustrates a superior view of a lumbar vertebra and what happens "inside" the spinal canal.

DEGENERATIVE DISC:

How often have you tried to show a patient what a degenerative disc looks like? How many patients do you treat with osteophytic spurring causing foraminal encroachment and nerve root irritation? How do you explain the nerve root irritation which can occur as a result of these common arthritic processes?

This section of the chart will greatly aid in your patient understanding, and the unique superior view will give a new dimension to your explanation.

NORMAL LUMBAR SPINE LATERAL VIEW:

To illustrate abnormal conditions there has to be a comparison to what is "NORMAL." In this section of the chart, a normal lateral lumbar spine has been included in the series of lumbar spine illustrations. This enables you to fully complete the explanation of what is normal and what is abnormal so your patients can actually see where they fit into the process.
